Invisalign is a system of clear aligners that straighten teeth over a period of time without the use of brackets or wires. The system is also discrete and clear making a great option for people who are concerned about the ascetics of wearing conventional braces.
Clearly Different Smiles
The Invisalign system begins with a consultation by Dr. Lingenbrink to see if you will be able to benefit from the clear aligners. If Dr. Lingenbrink determines that you are a good candidate, he will then begin the process of developing your aligners by gathering information about how your teeth align. Once that information is put into the Invisalign software we will begin making a roadmap for your treatment. Once Dr. Lingenbrink has gone over your treatment plan (and approved by you) it will be sent to Invisalign so they can begin manufacturing your aligners. The aligners will be made custom to your teeth using highly precise robots to ensure that they fit snug and will properly align your teeth. Once we have received your aligners from Invisalign we will have you come into the office to try your first set on and make sure they are a proper fit. You will wear anywhere from 12 to 40 aligners, lasting for about two weeks. Your aligners should only be removed to eat and brush your teeth to ensure that your teeth move enough to progress to the next aligner. Each time you receive a new aligner Dr. Lingenbrink will track your progress and make sure that your teeth are gradually moving as planned.
Because it is so important that you wear your aligners, Invisalign has developed Invisalign Teen in order to accommodate the unique needs that teens have. Invisalign Teen uses the same technologies as tradition Invisalign with a few key features:
- A blue dot wear indicator to show how long each retainer has been worn.
- Six free replacement retainers in case they are lost or broken
- Designed specifically for teens to accommodate their growing mouths.
