invisalignWhile many adults are in need of orthodontic treatment, it’s unfortunate to say that a lot of them don’t go through with the procedure. One of the main reasons for this is because they’re worried about wearing adult braces. Plenty of these patients are concerned with keeping up a professional and attractive appearance; wearing braces for adults can negatively affect that aim. That’s why as your source for orthodontics in and around Bremerton, Tacoma, and Port Orchard, we at Master Orthodontics are proud to offer a revolutionary treatment that will alleviate all of these potential concerns – our treatment of Invisalign for adults.

What Is Invisalign?

Instead of using the easily-apparent wires and brackets found in traditional metal braces, Invisalign utilizes clear, removable aligners to straighten a patient’s smile over time. This is a discreet treatment that’s a perfect choice for those who are concerned about their appearance while wearing traditional adult braces.

The Invisalign Process

The first thing we need to note is that Invisalign isn’t for all patients. This means that you’ll need to come in and get a consultation with Dr. Paul Lingenbrink to see if you’re a suitable candidate. If you are, Dr. Lingenbrink will gather information about your teeth and your bite and then place that information into the Invisalign software. A treatment plan will be crafted over how to move your teeth into proper alignment and a series of aligners will be created to do just that.

These aligners that you’ll get are custom-made to perfectly fit your teeth and will come in a series of sets. You’ll wear the first of these sets for approximately two weeks. After this two-week period is over, you’ll take out the old aligners and move onto wearing the next set of aligners for two weeks. You’ll continue this process, wearing each of the sets of aligners in a designated order until you’ve gone through the entire series. During this process, you’ll be able to take out your aligners just as long as you wear them for about 22 hours in a day. Also, you’ll periodically visit Dr. Lingenbrink so that he can track your progress and make sure that your teeth are moving just as planned.

Why Choose Invisalign?

Invisalign offers a plethora of great advantages that you won’t get from traditional braces for adults. Some of these include the following:

  • With the usage of its clear aligners, Invisalign offers one of the most discreet orthodontic treatments you can get.
  • Unlike adult braces, the aligners are removable so that you can take them out when you need to.
  • Because these aligners are removable, you won’t need to modify your diet or stop eating your favorite foods; just take the aligners out and eat what you like.
  • Also, the removable aligners mean that you won’t have to struggle to clean around the brackets and wires of adult braces; cleaning your teeth is just as simple as it’s always been.
  • The aligners are made of polyurethane plastic, which offers more comfort than braces for adults.
  • The aligners can act as a nightguard to keep your teeth from grinding together while you sleep.

It’s Not Just for Adults Either!

While Invisalign is crafted to work for adults, we also offer an alternative treatment that works the same way as Invisalign, only it’s specifically for teenagers. This exceptional treatment is known as Invisalign Teen. With this treatment, teens can now experience all of the same benefits that adults get through Invisalign for adults.
