Our mission at Master Orthodontics is to create beautiful and long-lasting smiles for all of our patients in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Port Orchard, and Bremerton, WA. Nothing makes us happier than seeing a patient walk out of our office with a brand-new smile that he or she is proud to use.Dr. Paul Lingenbrink and our entire team supply a wide variety of braces and other orthodontic treatments in order to accomplish this goal. From traditional braces to Invisalign, we always have an option that suits your orthodontic needs.

Metal Braces

These are the traditional type of orthodontic treatment that you’re probably most familiar with. Metal brackets are attached to the fronts of the patient’s teeth with an archwire running through each of them. The archwire will gradually pull the teeth into place, creating a straighter and more attractive smile. These modern metal braces ar7e made of a high-grade stainless steel that’s incredibly durable. While metal braces were once sometimes viewed as ‘unattractive,’ modern braces are actually smaller, more comfortable, and much more aesthetically appealing.

Clear Braces

Clear braces are incredibly similar to traditional metal braces, although there’s one clear difference between the two. The brackets of clear braces are made of a high-quality, translucent ceramic material that will blend into the natural color of the teeth. These braces will allow for a much more discreet orthodontic treatment. Because of this, they’re very popular amongst adults and especially professionals who are worried about what their image would look like with braces. The only drawbacks to these braces is that the ceramic brackets are more fragile than the metal brackets and that the elastic ties can sometimes discolor between visits.

Unlike the brackets and wires that traditional braces use to straighten a smile, Invisalign takes a radically different approach. Invisalign uses a series of clear, plastic aligners to fix the alignment of teeth. These removable aligners will fit directly over the tooth arch and are customized for the patient’s specific orthodontic needs. A patient will start by wearing the first set of aligners and after two weeks, they’ll be removed for the next set. The patient’s teeth will gradually shift as the process continues on; after the last set of aligners in the designated order is worn, the patient will have achieved his or her new and beautiful smile as prescribed by the orthodontist. As its name alludes to, the aligners are virtually invisible, allowing for a discreet orthodontic treatment.
